ARC STUD WELDERS

In arc stud welding, the base of the stud is joined to the workpiece by heating the stud and the base material with a drawn electrical arc between the two. When there is sufficient heat the two parts are brought together with light pressure. The drawing and the plunging of the stud is controlled by the stud gun. The power required for stud welding is provided by a DC power source. The power source can be either a DC transformer rectifier or motor generator power source.
